Based inside the Orams Marine Village in the heart of Westhaven Marina, we supply marine electrical services and electronic equipment for the boating community and onsite support across Auckland’s regional marinas.

Jackie and Josh Newman are the new owners of Marine Electrics NZ and proud to service the needs of the boating community across the Auckland region. Honest and hardworking, they are focussed on continuing the great service Marine Electrics has delivered over the last two decades.
Josh has a background in IT and has sailed and raced yachts all over the world since he was eight years old. He thrives on learning new technologies and managing teams to successfully deliver and service them.
Jackie supports the back office functions of the business. She is a practicing nurse and has worked across some of the largest emergency departments in the world. She also looks after the couple’s two young girls.
When they have spare time, Jackie and Josh love getting away as a family and exploring new parts of this great country both on and off the land. They also enjoy spending quality time with family and friends.

Registered AC 230 Volt Electrician’s
It is critical that you ensure the electrician working on your boat has the correct qualifications for the work he is carrying out. For overall safety and insurance purposes all 230 volt work must be signed off and have a certificate issued by a fully registered 230 volt electrician.

The Electrical Safety Certificate (ESC) provides a legally recognisable statement that the connected installation or part installation is safe to use following prescribed electrical work (PEW). An ESC is required in the circumstances described in Regulation 74A of the Electricity (Safety) Regulations (ESRs), and it must record the information identified in ESR 74A.
